Recruit, Train, & Place Technically Skilled Professionals to Meet New Demand
Exploring Career Opportunities in Advanced Technology
The CoE for ICT has participated for over a year as a core advisor for the Advanced Technological Education Television (ATETV), a Web-based video series and interactive network designed to connect students and professionals with careers in advanced technology. The Advanced Technological Education (ATE) Project funded in part by the National Science Foundation, ATETV shows how ATE is relevant to the modern workplace and to attract students to this growing field. (Click on the “fuel cell vehicle” image to view the video.) You will also find a number of other stories about the challenges, the process, and the experience of success as your colleagues, peers, in college find exciting, rewarding careers in emerging technologies.
Globalization has changed the scope of our workforce, creating new opportunities and greater demand for workers in the fields of science and technology. In order to drive our economy forward, we must recruit, train, and place technically skilled professionals to meet new demand.
Please check out this tremendous video series (a new episode is launched each week) at ATETV.org (opens in a new window) and discover how you have the opportunity to launch an exciting, challenging and fulfilling career in biotechnology, environmental engineering, process technology, or video gaming (to name a few)! Check back every Monday for a new video. Connect now, find ATE programs near you, tell your story on the blog and communicate through the Forum.
